The War of Gul'dan

The crew reached the isle of Gul'Dan. They encountered an evil society known only as the Tainted and their evil god the one named "Gul'Dan". Within a year Throktar was overwhelmed and cornered in a large ravine.

1 A. L.- Throktar is cornered into Nahkt' canyon and is ready for death but due to the wishes of his crew he prays to the god Koira Iso for help not expecting any, but unknown to Throktar Koira Iso was pleased with his humble petition and loyalty to his crew and granted his prayer by commanding Nahkt' Luti to summon a warrior whose arrows would terrify the Tainted men of this island and show Throktar the way to victory.

2 A. L. - After a full year of being under siege Throktar is ready to accept his defeat when he encounters a ranger named Scenlo. Upon meeting Throktar Scenlo reveals that a black bird bathed in shadowy feathers lead him to this canyon and spoke but one word, Throktar, incessantly. Scenlo then pledges to use his bow for Throktar and joins the ranks of Throktar's small army of only 600 men.

3 A. L. - In a miraculous battle Throktar is able to break the siege of Nahkt' canyon with a surprise attack on the force of the three black generals who were leading the attack on the canyon.

The first general was a horrid warrior was named Den' Anjo whose armor covered all parts of his body and boasted that no arrow could pierce his armor. He struck at Scenlo in the very beginning of the final siege and in a display of marksmanship not yet duplicated Scenlo placed a shaft neatly through his left eye.

The second General was a filthy creature named Havo' Nosh who would devour the souls of those he defeated. He charged towards Throktar striking all from his path, upon seeing the corpse of Den' Anjo, but was halted by the great Ervanos who engaged him in a duel of honor. Their battle was viewed in silence by all near them due to the sheer spectacular power of the combatants, but in the end Havo' Nosh's axe was shattered by Ervanos' crushing hand, and in a single flash of blinding red light Havo' Nosh was disintegrated and the spot where he was standing was permanently blackened, even now the spot still stands and nothing grows upon it.

The final general was the Deadly Jono Fash. His mind was filled with the most perverted spells and enchantments and due to his filthy obsession with women being inferior he struck at Anyu Evalyn to please his sick mind. But he didn't know the power Anyu Evalyn hid in her gentle appearance and in a terrible struggle Anyu Evalyn, her hands burning with the heat of a dragon's flame, grasped him by the loins and set him ablaze. The flames could be seen for easily half a league.

With the three generals defeated the army fled in terror of Throktar's army and victory was achieved. In honor of the Raven who led the army to victory Throktar names the canyon Nahkt'.

4 A. L. - Throktar establishes a base in the Red plains and encounters the eastern forces of the Tainted (he named the plains after the color of Ervano's broadsword). In a small campaign of three battles Throktar is able to defeat the small and ill equipped forces, which were equipped with the basic Tainted army rattan armor and rattan shields, easily outmatched by the Varg's iron weapons and armor. Throktar also takes notice of the Tainted's belief in their "omnipotent" dragon god.

8 A. L.- After two years of skirmishes with the eastern forces of the Tainted Throktar sets fire to the Gul'dan temples in the Red plains and declares himself and his army the chosen warriors of the Vanir.

9 A. L.-In an amazing show of military might Throktar conquers the eastern forces of the island and gains three lands north of the Silver woods. He achieved this by destroying the monuments of the Gold dragon erected in the Red plains and in the process proved that their god was far from "omnipotent" and received a massive amount of recruits, increasing his meager numbers to over 2,000.

13 A. L. - After 4 years of preparation Throktar divides his armies into three one lead by Scenlo and the other lead by Beolas. The three armies strike at separate parts of the Tainted empire, one to the north, the other to the south, and Throktar heads straight for the Tainted capital city.

13-18 A. L. - The three armies clash with the Tainted forces surrounding the island. Scenlo's army encounters the "Black Death" of the north and slays their leaders Kentav' "the red" and Lenos "the black". The Black Death were sub-human and were more goblin-like with an elongated jaw with pointed teeth. Their eyes, blue-white and they had mastered the art of weaponless combat.

Kentav led the first skirmish against Scenlo's army hoping to capitalize on the blinding snow that had been falling for two days. He took the initiative and charged, alone, towards the army before him. His charge was met with a firm shield in his face and not a few swords at every other part of him. Knowing that flight might mean life, he broke and ran like a whipped dog. Upon seeing his cowardice Anndos took aim, and with a quick prayer to Kani, crushed his skull with a precise throw of his mace.

Kentav's second in command Lenos led a full assault against Scenlo, but Scenlo had been advised by Beldas to sheer at the frozen river before them and let the weight do the rest. The ice gave way when Lenos attempted to cross and in the confusion of the ensuing battle Beldas back stabbed Lenos and left his corpse floating in the frozen lake.

The army was named the Black Deaths due to their belief that they were immune to the cold. They wore little cloth to cover their hides, leading their skin to die and turn a blackish, frostbitten hue. They believed these invaders knew nothing of the frozen lands, seeing as they covered themselves with so many strange skins. But this foolish belief made them easy to overcome, for it's well known that the original homeland of the Varg was always covered in snow. Throktar and his crew had never seen green grass or forests uncovered until arriving at the Isle of Gul'dan.

Scenlo's army conquers the Northern plains and names them the plains of the Kani-Svart, to commemorate the two gods who aided his two officers, but also because he thought the image of a rabbit-ant was comical. The army then attempts to head back to aid Throktar, but they are assaulted by an unknown force, Orcs.

13- 18 A. L. - Meanwhile in the silver woods. Beolas encounters a group of Tainted who live in the leaves of the trees, and can dissapear among the forest flora. For five months Beolas was defeated by this strange camouflage tactic of the Tainted. Until Evagar called upon the animals of the woods with his powerful voice and single handedly destroyed the base of the Tainted.

A monstrous man called Hevanos "the green" attacked Evagar and in a terrible show of strength murdered many of the creatures that came to the aid of Evagar, even several great bear. Upon seeing the animals murdered with such cold disregard Evagar flew into a rage. He began the intonations of a spell that would be able to stop the deaths of so many of his beloved creatures, and called upon the forest itself to avenge its fallen inhabitants. As he finished the spell adding all of his anger and strength to every word he watched as the vines of the forest entrapped the limbs of Hevanos and pulled tight. His mind was a sea of red as he spoke a word which has been lost, the rune worn away and the tablet chipped so just that word was erased, and the trees pulled with the strength of Evagar's rage and took Hevanos to the four points of the compass.

In a single year Beolas is able to cleanse the great forest and gives the honor of naming it to Evagar, who names it the Silver wood in honor of the animals that helped him to conquer the enemies in the forest.

13- 18 A. L. - Meanwhile Throktar storms his army through the defenses surrounding the city that have been weakened by their constant defeats in the Kani-Svart plains and the Silver woods. During his march towards the capital Throktar received a vision from Koira Iso to head towards the North and aid his army there. Throktar, his curiosity peaked to see what was going on in the north with Scenlo, battles his way to Kani-Svart.

During this march towards Kani-Svart Throktar encountered an assassin named Levas who warned him of an impending attack on Throktar's army led by a coalition of assassins named the White dagger. Levas betrayed his guild due to his increasing disgust of his guilds lack of personal restraint, lust to kill innocents, and lack of professionalism. So with Leva's help Throktar overwhelmed the hastily formed army, upon further examination of the great runes it's shown that Levas received a vision from the goddess Mereg when he asked whether he should help Throktar or allow him to die. He was shown a vision of Throktar's home and was shown the horrible actions these people committed and in a pillar of sickly green light he saw a great cobra that told him the story of Throktar's voyage to the isle of Greed. Upon this revelation Levas realized that he and Throktar were kindred spirits and after swearing allegiance to Mereg he fought alongside Throktar and killed the dishonorable leaders of the White dagger.

After dispatching this army, with the help of a counter ambush led by Levas and Ervanos, Throktar invites Levas into his forces, which he happily accepted and was given the title of army tactical officer. So with this crisis averted the army rolled on to Kani-Svart and joined up with Scenlo's army and met the Orc threat head on.

19-24 A. L. - Unknown to Beolas, Throktar and Scenlo's army was preoccupied with the invading Orc forces instead of surrounding the capital as planned. So Beolas' army traveled to the capital and found itself facing an even greater foe than the invading Orcs, the savage Gul'dan itself.

Due to the ever increasing victories of the Varg the Tainted had tried desperately to summon their god, which, upon waking, completely incinerated the city. It was in the process of devouring the victims that had survived its initial onslaught. Once again Beolas encountered massive resistance and upon seeing his men being murdered by this horrid false-god he became immensely enraged, but during his rage he was wounded badly.

Upon the 3rd year of failed assaults against the Gold menace Beolas started losing hope, but once again the gods provided help. On one fateful night Beolas was shown a vision of a bear tearing Gul'dan's throat out and roaring over its corpse, it then turned a sad head towards a burnt deer and roared in mourning. So with only his officer Evagar by his side he challenged the Golden dragon to single combat.

Beolas was being overwhelmed and as he stood with sweat pouring from his body Gul'dan drew in one long breath. In the moment before the blast Evagar remembered a dream he had had the previous evening, a dream eerily similar to Beolas' own. In his dream he was a deer which sacrificed itself so that a bear could defeat the dragon. With a smile on his face Evagar stood between Gul'dan and Beolas with his back to the dragon. Beolas looked into the face of Evagar and all he saw was a warriors' pride. Evagar spoke these words, "Victory is yours Brother." The Breath of Gul'dan did not completely incinerate him but seemed to encircle him and blacken him as dark as coal. He fell where he stood.

Beolas was instantly transformed into a twelve foot tall creature with black fur and razor sharp claws. The two creatures battled each other for five moonsets until Beolas fulfilled the great vision he received by tearing the monster's throat out with his own teeth, spitting the organ back into Gul'dan's face. Strangely upon his victory Beolas was unable to speak or communicate with his allies, for three whole days. It's known that he kept watch over Evagar and protected his body from the elements and scavengers. Beolas' army was terrified to approach the giant and only observed his actions from a safe distance. Upon the third day Beolas was restored to his human form and for the first time in all his years he cried like a child. So in honor of his fallen brother he gave the title of Evagar Dragon Shield to his truest friend.

19-24 A.L. - As the battle in the Tainted capitol raged on the two great armies of Throktar and Scenlo were being overwhelmed by the Orc horde. But as the snows in the north melted the Orcs found themselves unable to retreat or charge through the two great armies and in a single year they were able to eliminate the Orc threat, with much bloodshed and many a severed limb. The two armies were then forced to halt their march and tend to their wounded and in the process.

Throktar settled the lands north of Lewd Stone and put three lands under Varg control. This process took a matter of three years and in one single year the two armies met with the army of Beolas and helped in the clean-up and settlement of the city. Upon returning to Evalas Throktar buried Evagar in one of the most illustrious burials in the history of Varg. The trees wept at his passing.

25-31 A. L. - The great capital, Evalas, is created along with the Varg code of honor and their process of initiation and economy. The city's formation was laid in the shape of the great god Koira Iso with altars created to honor all the great gods that influenced the great heroes of the War of Gul'dan. Throktar then, with the aid of his officers, named the city Evalas to honor the two heroes that fought to "save" the city. The material they used to form the buildings was discovered by following a trail of ants to a large quarry of dark colored stones. And due to a sudden lightning storm a great river charged forth from a giant mountain and gave the city a constant supply of fresh water. The rubble was removed by a swarm of locusts that touched no flesh nor blade of grass, but instead devoured all the remains of the ruined city. With these great miracles the capital was created with the confidence of defense, given by the mountains, and the absolute knowledge that the gods would protect all who lived here. So in 31 A. L. the city was founded and peace reigned for some time.

Throktar's rule

32-50 A.L. - Peace reigns and Throktar is able to establish a large Varg military presence of 5,000 swords.

51 A.L. - Baas Throktar and his surveying team led by Scenlo discover a large contingent of transport ships heading to the eastern coast of the island.

52 A. L. - The fleet sends a small scouting vessel which is met by Throktar and his ship. Throktar discovers that a large civil war has erupted in the north and this fleet of ships is transporting over 4,000 refugees.

53- 54 A.L. - Throktar negotiates with the refugee armada and decides to accept them into the Varg nation.

The Far ranged war

55-57 A.L. - The refugees are pouring in through the eastern coast, but are attacked from a large military fleet from the north. Thankfully, Throktar sent Kol Ervanos to oversee the refugees landing and they quickly construct defenses to withstand the assaults. Due to the fright of the refugees Ervanos suffers a large number of civilian casualties ranging around 1,500 dead and wounded. Throktar attempts to send reinforcements, but due to his deteriorating health he's unable to lead them himself and instead sends Beolas with a heavy regiment of scale armor warriors, equipped with tower shields and greatswords numbering around 800.

Meanwhile, Ervanos sends a scout to negotiate with the military vessels and is met with hostility, but he does discover that the attacking force is a remnant of their homeland and considers any force that shelters these refugees to be enemies. The ships attempt to land on the coast but are met with a rain of arrows and fireballs. Over eight ships are set aflame, but after four hours of bombardment they are able to land 2,000 men onto the coast and begin to siege Ervano's hastily made fort. As Beolas is approaching the coast a huge thunderstorm sweeps across the coast and sinks many of the enemy ships leaving only a handful which retreat and leave their land forces to fend for themselves. Upon the fourth day of siege Beolas reaches the coast and the now invigorated army of Ervanos overtakes the enemy army and captures many of them, the army was leaderless since they were given orders by the flagship.

58-63 A. L. - To accommodate for the massive amount of refugees Throktar orders the surveying of three more lands and in 60 A.L. He succeeds and establishes three villages in 63 A. L. These lands were located near the Southern coast, east from the Silver woods.

64- 65 A. L. - Another massive fleet of military vessels appear off the eastern coast of Varg and after three failed negotiations with them the Varg are attacked and lose two villages near the Red plains.

66- 69 A.L. - An enormous battle is fought at the plains of Koira Iso with the Varg totaling 7,000 and the Keindas totaling 9,000 and in an amazing show of strength Throktar Slays the admiral of the navy Beldan Kar. But upon slaying him Throktar is pierced through the heart by an arrow; while dying he slays 36 men. Upon seeing the body of Throktar Beolas slays the archer who shot the arrow, the archer was a man called Havo Keid. Havo shot over twenty arrows at Beolas, but Scenlo deflected them all with his own arrows. Beolas reaches Havo and disembowels him with one hand. The attackers retreat to the northern coast of the island and attempt to build a small fort, but due to the lack of resources and the pursuit of the now enraged Varg army their meager force of only 900 are slain. A few hundred of them flee into Nahkt' canyon. The Varg armies, now led by Scenlo, pursue and encounter the forces of the dark ones and are nearly slain by this deadly new enemy.

70-73 A. L. - After receiving reinforcements from the village of Veri'vinge the Varg army reenters the canyon with an army 5,000 strong. The Varg army slays the dark army and discovers that the Keindas were slain long before the Varg entered the canyon. The army retreats from the canyon leaving a small contingent of 500 men to guard the entrance.

74- 76 A.L. - The army returns to Lewd Stone and after much deliberation Scenlo is given the title of Baas. Scenlo creates a system of money handling which helps create a small income to Lewd Stone and allowing the building of several houses and farming villages. In 75 He marries Anyu Evalyn in one of the most anticipated weddings known in Varg history. In 76 he buries Throktar in the plain of Koira Iso and names them so to give honor to the god Throktar served.

Scenlo's rule/ Years of expectation

78-89 A.L. - Scenlo ushers in a new age of peace and with the help of his fellow brothers, and his wife Anyu Evalyn, he increases military spending to ensure peace for years to come. Scenlo dies in 88 and is replaced by his son Scelot who decides to use the now well equipped army to investigate the dark ones who have reappeared in Nahkt' canyon.

90-96 A. L. - Several scouting parties are sent into Nahkt' canyon and are met with massive resistance. In the year 92 the last surviving crew member of the Wave Springer, Ervanos, is slain as he is buried under many tons of rock and his sword believed to be lost. In 95 an army of 3,000 is sent into the canyon to recover the sword of Ervanos and discovers the three deadly types of Skraeling, the White Hand, the Red Tyrant, And the Black Voice. This army is able to defeat many of the Skraelings but is unable to recover Ervano's sword and leaves the canyon with nothing to show.

98-102 A.L.- Scelot opens negotiations with the Keindas and discovers their city is destroyed and left to ruin, but rebels from the lands of the Keindas attack the negotiation party and nearly slay the men. Due to the heroism of their mage Hat' Ea the party is able to retreat and return to tell Kol Scelot the tale. Kol Scelot quickly assembles defenses on the borders of the eastern coast expecting an invasion.

103-116 A.L. - An uneasy air hangs over the country as Kol Scelot and his newly appointed Grand Council is expecting an attack from the remnants of the Keindas. But for 10 years no force is seen so in 114 Scelot marries Anyu Kiev' ana of the line of Beldas. In 116 a small skirmish takes place in Nahkt' canyon against the Skraelings.

Age of the Kani

117-217 A.L. - A long time of peace known as the era of the Kani reigns and times are good. Farming production is increased and the income of the country sky-rockets but upon Scelot's death in 178 he is replaced by an incompetent Baas from a leading aristocrat family called Te'Sos. Baas Te'Sos spends the countries income frivolously and in 210 the population of the country becomes faithful only to their wallets and start becoming lazy and disrespectful to the gods. In 217 the country is sent into bankruptcy.

War of the White axe

218-222 A.L. - In 218 a large Orc army appears around Kani-Svart and starts pillaging the villages surrounding the plains. Baas Te'Sos dispatches three heavy regiments but they are ambushed and completely destroyed at the battle of Kinshot. The Orc army destroys all pockets of the Varg forces left in the villages and lays siege to Evalas in 220. In 221 a small army led by the ambitious Svel of Norvad makes its way through small patches of the orc hordes and encounters the sieging of the capital city. In 222 the two armies battle each other and reach a stalemate.

222-228 A.L. - The two armies battle for five days and in a single moment Svel destroys the orc hordes with the legendary sword of Ervanos. In the great runes a powerful orc commander known only as the White Axe attacked the small 15 year old Svel with intention of killing him quickly but upon connecting with Svel's blade the orc's axe shattered. Svel attacked the orc and upon connecting with the orc's hand a brilliant red light pierced through his enemy's body and disintegrated all of the orc army in one single moment. Upon reaching the capital in 222 Svel is instantly given the title of Baas and "Disciple of Justice". He is the youngest Baas in Varg history. From 223-228 Svel rebuilds the kingdom of Varg and conquers surrounding areas near Evalas giving the Varg a total of 13 lands under their control.

The Gods Rediscovered

229-310 A.L. - Baas Svel issues a great renaissance of Varg culture. He builds over twenty new education academies along with forty new outposts and over thirty military academies. He helps restore the income of the country and in 280 he marries Anyu Coney who bears him two sons Svero and Kell'eo. In 258 he establishes a large library of history and helps fund the guilds of Kani, Bjorna, Hyort, Sas'Ka, Svart, Nahkt' Luti, Tyr, Hav'Orm, and Koira Iso. In the year 310 Baas Svel dies at the age of 96.

The Svero/ Kell War

311-315 A.L. - After a dispute over the throne Svero is crowned Baas and continues his father's rule of peace but in 314 he attempts to assassinate his brother Kell'eo but it fails and Kell retreats to the Silver woods. In 315 Kell'eo forms an army and attacks Evalas.

316- 335 A.L. - The two brothers battle over the throne and decimate the capital. In 324 Svero's army retreats into the mountains near Evalas and hold out for 6 years, but in 330 the two brothers are killed in battle. The great tablets show that while in combat the two brothers were crushed by a sudden avalanche and were left by their exhausted armies. Some claimed to have seen a bear on the mountain just before the avalanche. The throne is given to a cleric named Delios. It takes 5 years for the capital to be re-built and upon its completion Baas Delios swears that no enemy, internal or external will ever lay a hand on the capital while he rules.

336 A.L. - Baas Delios builds a giant altar in front of his castle to commemorate all the wars of the country, even the Svero-Kell war, and builds a separate altar to praise the legendary warriors of the Varg.

337- 342 A.L. - A large raiding party of Skraelings ranging in the thousands strike from Nahkt' canyon and overrun the nearest outpost. But in a miraculous turn of events the outpost of only 700 men defends against the Skraeling hordes and pushes them back into Nahkt' canyon, but not without massive casualties. It's shown in the tablets that an Unknown Commander fought against the Skraeling army and killed both of their generals in battle. In the great tablets He defeated the first Skraeling general, a creature named Hai Kuvos, who crashed his way through the fort gate and was murdering men left and right with his giant mace, being a red tyrant. When the Unknown One engaged him in battle he was able to crush Dios' arm, but was beheaded when Dios' threw his hatchet while Kuvos was attempting to retreat. The second general Laros Kai, a White hand, led a surprise attack in the night.

Dios and his armed guards engaged Laros in combat. When Laros foolishly attacked Dios, by-passing the other Varg, he was caught in the back with multiple arrows. When he crushed the archers behind him and turned to face Dios his arms were hacked off. He was then cleaved in half by Dios' broadsword, spraying him with gallons of blood. So in 340 the Skraelings retreated back into Nahkt' canyon when they were attacked by the relief forces led by Delios. In 342 Kel' Dios was assigned the title of Krig and was married to Delio's daughter Lauria. Upon hearing Dios tale of the battle, Delios declares the Skraelings the hated enemy of the Varg.

343-361 A.L. - In 343 Delios leads the final expedition into Nahkt' canyon and discovers a huge military operation. It turns out the Skraelings were digging miles long tunnels towards the mountains surrounding Evalas and upon reaching the end he quickly returned to Evalas to reinforce his army. In 347 Delios left the defense of Evalas to Kol Dios and leaves with an army of 1,500. In 349 Delios is caught in an ambush against 4,500 Skraelings and communication is lost with the scouts. In 351 The Skraeling army is seen over the ridge from Evalas and upon almost touching the ground of the city is quickly struck from the side by the Varg army led by a wounded Delios. Upon seeing Delios fighting the Skraelings Dios assembles the army and reinforces Baas Delios with another 1,500 troops. The two armies fight a bloody battle and in 14 days, the longest battle in Varg history, the Varg army triumphs over the Skraelings.

The two armies head back to the capital and are given a large parade. But in 361 Delios, while on his death bed, begs Dios to lead the Varg into an age of peace, not war, and dies with a radiant smile on his face. And like Beolas this is the only time in his life Dios wept.

362-393 A.L. - True to his word Dios leads the Varg into a time of peace. In 366 Dios constructs a statue of Delios in the altar of heroes and it reads "Unbroken Vow" he also constructs three separate outposts in the mountains near Evalas and names the plains surrounding Evalas the plains of the White Stag, which he named after the god Baas Delios prayed to and also the color of the his robes. The kingdom had a massive increase in weapon production and food, which was rationed by Baas Dios. In 390 Anyu Lauria gave birth to Devano and in 393 Dios quickly formed a bodyguard contingent to safeguard his only son, this was done right after Anyu Lauria died giving birth.

394- 424- Dios creates villages in all thirteen lands of the Varg and establishes a senate of the people and in 414 Baas Dios dies of heart failure and Devano is given the throne. After ascending to the throne Devano holds a tournament that tests all Varg warriors and after 5 weeks a warrior named Vel'garo is the winner. In 420 Devano constructs his father's statue in the altar of heroes and it reads "Skraeling Hewer". Peace reigned until 424

424- 438 A. L. - The Orc hordes appear once again and battle against the new Baas of the Varg but with the aid of his champion Vel'garo the orc hordes are defeated in only two years. So in 426 Vel'garo is given the control of the three villages surrounding Kani-Svart. And in 430 Devano leads an expedition across the mountains near Evalas and discovers an ocean behind them he names the ocean Foaming Brew and names the mountains Locust ground, due to the number of locusts surrounding the caves. In 438 Devano receives a vision in his sleep. He sees large shadows standing over the island and are reaching their hands across the sea. Devano then resembles a new negotiation crew to head to the lands of the Keindas.

439-468 A. L. - The crew heads to the lands of the Keindas and encounter absolutely nothing. The lands are clean and pure, but the crew does find out that many other countries have risen and are vying for control and that there are lands much wider and greater than their island and upon trading with random locals they are able to find a map showing the world and return to the lands of Varg with startling information for Baas Devano. In 452 Baas Devano gathers his wisest mages and clerics and has a roundtable discussion on what should be done. His officers advise that he search for a representative and perhaps the Varg can gain a representation in the world. So in 460 Devano sends another crew to find more information about the world surrounding them. In 468 the crew is lost and Devano believes they are dead.

469-477 A. L. - Devano is heartbroken from the loss of his negotiation vessel and dies in 473 of disappointment, he has no heirs. So a huge argument starts in the senate wanting Vel'garo to be Baas but he declines. And after four years, 477, without an heir the senate puts Baas Eladart on the throne.

601 - Captain Skaar returns from his voyage to the north seas bearing a strange tome. Upon cursory inspection the book leads the Varg to believe that the lands of Throktar lie on a crescent shaped island in the southeastern corner of the realm.

The lands are already inhabited by a strange group of men who hail the Varg in the name of one god. It seems that whatever Vargian civilization was here has since vanished. The Varg set out to find the nature of the previous inhabitants.

Upon discovering the tombs of the fallen, the party finds great altars to the false gods Odin, Thor, and Freya. Disgusted by the weakness of the land and those who inhabited it before, the Varg seek a land to call their own.

Upon their return to Kensei City they are met by Regdar who has spent many hours reading the archaic script with his magically enhanced eyes. It seems the lands the Varg sought are not in the southeast, but the northwest of the realm.

602 - The Varg sail for the north and find a people with no leader, looking for a ship bearing a man with the rune of enlightenment on his brow , for so says the prophesy of the Winged Sage. The Varg are greeted as heroes and within months the capital of Brorheim is founded.

603 - The established government under the foreign minister Skaar, the war commander Vlygar, and the high priest Faakhir flourishes. The nation of Stalrike rises from the ruins of a city between forest, river, and mountain.
